The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) is the points system used to rank eligible Express Entry candidates. Your score can change with age, language results, education, Canadian work experience, spouse factors, provincial nomination and other additional-point factors.

Before calculating
- Have valid language-test results available.
- Confirm your highest completed education and Educational Credential Assessment where required.
- Calculate qualifying Canadian and foreign work experience accurately.
- Confirm whether a spouse or common-law partner is accompanying.
- Use provincial nomination points only after a valid Express Entry nomination has been accepted.
Important current CRS changes
IRCC removed CRS points for job offers on March 25, 2025. Provincial nomination remains worth 600 additional points. Qualifying French-language proficiency can provide 25 or 50 additional points depending on English-language results.
CRS is not program eligibility
A candidate must separately qualify for the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Canadian Experience Class or Federal Skilled Trades Program, as applicable, and must continue to satisfy the program and admissibility requirements when invited and when the permanent residence application is assessed.
