A removal order may be a departure order, exclusion order or deportation order. The type of order, when it became enforceable and the person’s procedural history determine the immediate consequences and possible remedies.
Immediate assessment
- Type and status of the removal order
- Whether an appeal or judicial review is available
- PRRA eligibility and timing
- Humanitarian applications and their effect on enforcement
- CBSA reporting and scheduled removal dates
Do not assume that a pending immigration application automatically prevents removal.
Immigration criteria, document requirements and public policies can change. Advice should be based on the rules and facts applicable when you apply.
