A CBSA direction or requirement to report should be taken seriously. The purpose may involve routine compliance, an enforcement interview, document collection, removal arrangements or another immigration enforcement step.
Before reporting
- Review the notice and reporting instructions
- Confirm current immigration and removal status
- Collect relevant IRCC, IRB and CBSA decisions
- Identify pending applications or proceedings
- Assess whether counsel should communicate with or attend before CBSA
Immigration criteria, document requirements and public policies can change. Advice should be based on the rules and facts applicable when you apply.
