Study in Canada

Study-permit strategy from school selection and proof of funds through refusals, work authorization, post-graduation eligibility and family considerations.

A study permit application must present a credible academic plan, adequate financial support and a complete record. Program choice can also affect work eligibility and post-graduation options.

Study permit services

A strong application is internally consistent

  • The program should make sense in light of prior education and employment.
  • Tuition and living expenses must be supported by reliable, traceable evidence.
  • The study plan should explain the educational objective without misrepresenting future intentions.
  • Any prior refusals, status issues or material facts must be disclosed accurately.

Frequently asked questions

Does admission to a Canadian school guarantee a study permit?

No. A letter of acceptance is necessary, but IRCC separately assesses the study-permit requirements.

Can every graduate obtain a PGWP?

No. Eligibility depends on current IRCC rules, the institution, program and the student’s compliance. It should be checked before choosing a course.

Does studying guarantee permanent residence?

No. Permanent residence programs have separate criteria and can change. Education planning should consider several possible outcomes.
