PROFESSIONAL FEES

Clear scope. Written terms. No hidden assumptions.

Professional fees depend on the facts, complexity, urgency and work required in each matter. Before representation begins, clients receive a written retainer agreement explaining the authorized services and fees.

HOW FEES ARE DETERMINED

The work required should match the needs of the file.

01

Type of matter

Applications, hearings, appeals and enforcement matters require different levels of preparation and representation.

02

Complexity and history

Previous refusals, status concerns, inadmissibility and incomplete records can materially affect the scope of work.

03

Evidence and submissions

Some matters require detailed affidavits, country evidence, legal submissions or extensive supporting documentation.

04

Urgency and deadlines

Short statutory or enforcement deadlines may require immediate review and priority preparation.

BEFORE YOU RETAIN US

What your written agreement will explain.

Clients should understand the professional relationship before authorizing work.

01

The immigration service or representation being provided

02

Professional fees, applicable taxes and payment schedule

03

Expected client responsibilities and required documents

04

Government charges or third-party expenses, when applicable

05

Work excluded from the agreed scope and how additional work is authorized

Government fees and professional fees are different.
